oh dear...

i have several things to report this evening. the story goes something like this...

so today i woke up early(ish) and decided to get to know the surrounding neighborhood more in depth, and thought it to be safer in the daylight. so the little kiddies and i went for a walk. something you should know about the streets of prauge are they are ridiculously hilly and covered in ice. basically no city maintenance. it's like an ice rink. so the boys are bundled and looking as cute as ever. they are also being typical males and beating each other with sticks, yelling and trying to hit me with a closed fist. as we're walking they are falling all over the place, but having a great time because when you're 2.5 feet, you don't have far to go. one particular instance was when danny (older boy) decided it was okay to step in a giant pile of dog excrement. promptly after squishing it with his boot, he slips, becomes air born, and falls onto his side, directly in the pile. i say, "danny, don't move." naturally, not understanding a word of english, he attempts to get up and rolls around in it until it's all over his hands, side and back. as i neared vomit status, i hoisted him up by the collar of his jacket and poked at him with a stick the rest of the way home. (not really, but that would have been ideal since he kept trying to hit me.)

the end.

next order of business: i made a friend and he speaks english. very exciting.

lastly and most importantly...!!! i leave for a tour of italy (milan to florence/tuscany/pisa) on thursday the 17th. i'm thrilled!

here are my latest pictures of a few evenings ago in praha. this is in old town square. these pictures are of The Church of Our Lady before Tyn and in the second photo you'll see the Church and Kinsky Palace (and i'm standing near the front). it's a good depiction of what old town looks like every night. beautiful!
