cheers to london

02.17.07

did karli survive? did karli finally recover? what is the square root of 49? these are all questions you might be asking yourself at this very moment. yes, yes and seven...i think? on february 13th i traveled to london in hopes of a romantic proposal. we would see the london bridge, sip tea, romantically gaze over big ben from the london eye. unfortunately i didn't get to see prince william or harry, so they never had the chance to fall in love with me. their loss, i say. with that shortcoming out of the way i made room in my schedule for site-seeing with kelli, her boyfriend scott, and russell. yep...russell REALLY DID make it to europe. he'll deny it. he'll say, "karli who?" and make up some lame story about how he was very busy for the past two weeks getting a mani/pedi, brushing his dog and shopping at the mall. don't believe him, i have pictures of proof. so, from the 13th through the 17th we had adventures all over the city. i apologize in advance for the mass quantities of pictures...there are just so many good ones:

here kelli and i are in front of the national gallery that included art from monet, van gogh and renoir. i was apprehensive to give my camera to someone to snap the picture for us...so i tried as best as i could:

naturally i had to get a jumping picture...luckily i was able to talk kelli into it as well! if you look closely, i think you can fit a quarter under kelli's left foot with all the air she got. us bell girls are such athletes:

we also found a giant lion (four giant lions, actually) outside of the national gallery:

then we found westminster abbey:

we finished the day by going into shops we couldn't afford and getting snubbed by the salespeople for resting our feet on a $12,000 bed.

day two found a jet-lagged russell and some more sight-seeing. russell was a trooper and fresh off the plane, but insisted that the seven hour time difference wasn't a big deal. so we started the day off with a hearty meal of fish and chips:

we quickly ditched scott and continued being tourists by visiting the london tower:

we were like models:

day three found us on a walk through the park, at a proper football game and some of the best dancing i've ever seen. i've decided not to include pictures of the park/forest because truthfully, they're painfully boring. we climbed a tree and i think kelli and i caught scott and russell holding hands once...

that night we went dancing at a club that scott hits bi-weekly. he knew all the dj's and bartenders, so when russell got lost, he was able to shut down the music and get two free drinks out of the deal...at least that's how i remember it:

on the final day in london we decided to be good boys and girls. we woke up early, drank some earl gray and scott made us all a proper english breakfast which happens to be why i like the boy so much. it included delicious eggs, toast, sausage, bacon, some baked beans and there are probably some things i'm forgetting, but it was amazing. (yes scott...amazing, i'm not over exaggerating.) then we wondered over to the london eye which is the biggest ferris wheel...ever. four trillion dollars later we had and amazing view of big ben and the rest of london.

we continued our walk around the city and i finished thing up with one final typical tourist pose...i was ringing prince william to tell him that i'm cuter than his girlfriend:
